Jean-Sébastien Conty studied at the National School of Administration from 2006 to 2008 and was appointed Foreign Affairs Advisor on April 1, 2008.

He began his career in the Ministry’s central administration as an editor in Economic and Financial Affairs from 2008 to 2009. He then served as editor, Head of Office, and Head of the G8/G20 Task Force for Global Economy and Development Strategies from 2009 to 2012.

From 2012 to 2015, he was posted to the Permanent Representation of France to the European Union in Brussels, where he served first as First Secretary and later as Political Advisor. He then joined the European External Action Service in Brussels as Political Advisor from 2015 to 2017, before serving as Political Advisor in Washington from 2017 to 2021.

Upon returning to the central administration, he served as Deputy Director of Development within the Sustainable Development Directorate from 2021 to 2023. On January 1, 2023, he was integrated into the State Administrators Corps.

From 2023 to 2024, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the Secretary of State. Between January and April 2024, he worked in the central administration, before becoming Project Manager at the Ministerial Delegation for Senior Management within Human Resources from April to September 2024.

In September 2024, he was appointed Deputy Director within the Global Affairs Directorate.
