The government of Qatar asks companies to familiarise workers with online remittance service

In Qatar, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) has asked companies to educate their workers about online remittance services as a substitute of exchange houses.As the government ordered to close exchange houses from March 26, following preventive and precautionary measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, the owners of the companies were urged to introduce electronic services for money transfer which are available online or mobile app or Ooredoo Money. The Ministry also asked employers to educate domestic helps about the ways of online remittance which are available in a number of languages. As a result, the money transfer service providers such as exchange houses, banks and Ooredoo Money have started sending text messages to customers and account holders.
